Fakes and fact-checking
In our courses, we pay a lot of attention to the basics of practical journalism and teach the techniques of fact-checking. Below we provide definitions of fake and fact-checking and explain why it is important for journalists to understand the topic through our students.
Fake – fake, deceit, something false, unreliable, passed off as real, real, reliable in order to mislead.
Fakes are spread by people who benefit from having other people believe their deception, and using fakes to mentally control the minds of society. Factchecking is the verification of information to rule out possible deception and the spread of fakes.
It is important for a journalist to distinguish the truth from fakes because he or she is informing people about any events. And the credibility of the journalist depends on the credibility of the information he or she publishes
