This type of news item combines the reporting and analysis of an event by identifying its causes and predicting its consequences.
Such news stories are called “standard news” or “expansions” in news agencies. This type of news item provides details about the event as well as expert evaluations and forecasts. Whereas “breaking news” answers mainly the questions “What is happening?”, “standard news” also contains answers to the questions “What happened?” and “What will happen? A note can be as long as 2,000 to 2,500 characters, or six to seven paragraphs.
